-Chapter 1: Local Government Test Tuesday March 6

-The test will be made up of a definition matching question and two short answer questions.  The questions will be based on the following:

1. All definitions in the chapter.

2. The three levels of government.

3. The use of technology in the government to communicate with citizens.

Monday January 29

-Chapter Four: Early Settlements in New France Test Tuesday February 6

-The test will be made up of short answer, multiple choice, and true and false questions. There will be 13 questions based on the following:

1. Why did the French want to settle in Canada?

2. Where were the first settlements?

3. How was the land settled and used? (The Seigneurial System)

4. What roles and responsibilities did community members have?

5. How was New France governed?

6. Why did missionaries come to New France?

7. How are relationships of the past connected to issues today?

Monday January 8

-The Chapter 3 test will be postponed until Thursday January 11.

Thursday December 28

-Chapter Three: Fur Trade in Eastern Canada 1500s to 1713 Test Tuesday January 9, 2018

-The test will be made up of short answer, multiple choice and true and false questions. There will be 11 questions based on the following:

1. How did the fur trade start?

2. How was trade conducted?

3. What were the roles of the First Nations men and women in the fur trade?

4. What were some consequences of the fur trade?

Thursday November 9

-Chapter Two: First Nations Peoples in Eastern Canada Test Tuesday November 14

-Here are some questions that the student needs to focus on for the test.  There will be 8 questions on the test based on the following:

1. Why  did European Explorers sail to Canada?

2.Sailing Ships and Navigation 

3. Who were some of the early European explorers?

4. What were the benefits of contact?

5. What conflicts arose from contact?

Wednesday October 25

-Sign and return Chapter One test

Chapter One: First Nations Peoples in Eastern Canada Before 1600 Test Tuesday October 24th, 2017

Tuesday October 17

Here are some questions that the student needs to focus on for the test.  There will be 9 questions on the test based on the following:

1. How was the environment important to First Nations Peoples?

2. What roles and responsibilities did community members have?

3. How did communities make decisions?

4. How did First Nations Peoples interact with each other?

Thursday April 5

Chapter 2 Provincial and Territorial Government Test Tuesday April 10, 2018.  There will be 12 questions on the test based on the following:

1. How are decisions made? What systems are used?

2. What services do provinces and territories provide?

3. How are laws applied?

4. How do provinces and territories pay for services?

Tuesday April 24

Chapter 3 Federal Government Test Tuesday May 1, 2018. The test will be based on the following topics:

1. What is federal government?

2. How is Canada's federal government structured?

3. Who are members of the federal government?

4.How are laws created and applied?

5. What services does the federal government provide?
