In Social Studies, we have recently been learning about working together as a society.  One of the things we need to do is work together to help those in need in our community.  With Ramadan approaching, we thought it would be the perfect time to teach our students about giving and helping others meet their basic needs.  So, in both grade 5A and 5B,  we have started a can drive, a sadaka drive, backpacks that you no longer use, and toiletries (such as toilet paper, tissue paper, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant). The students set a goal of 500 cans, as much change as we can for the sadaka drive, and as many backpacks and toiletries as possible.
